Count Down to Heaven

The story opens with Conan, the processor, and the detective boys gang plus - Genta, Mitsuhiko, Ayumi and Ai driving to a camping trip. Later that night, Ai is seen by Genta making a phone call to someone and the call is either being monitored or Ai is talking to one of the men in black about something going on in the twin towers building. Upon return to the city, they stop in front of the newly built twin towers building only to run into Ran, Sonako, and Ran's father. Ran's father had been invited to the complex for some reason. Later the group rides up in a elevator built onto the outside of the building and take it first upstairs to meet with one of the programers who makes video games. They try out a new video game which will predict what they will look like in 10 years. First Ayumi and the Professor tries it, then Genta and Mitsuhiko, followed by Ran and Sonako. Ai and Conan says NO, but they were forced onto the chairs by Rans father and Genta and Mitsuhiko. Then the the computer says "ERROR" on their attempts. Conans sighs a luckey since both didnt want anyone to see what they looked like after 10 years; especially not to Ran.The visitors then go to the 75th floor to were a grand party is being planned and they meet some of the other guests. One is a famous painter of Mount Fugi landscapes, the other maybe his assistant and some other speculator . Upon arrival on the floor by 2 workers, Conan overhears them talking about a fancy black car and men in black driving it. He then rushes down the elevator to try and catch them but they drive off by then. As the time goes by, the first of 3 main murders happen. First across in one of the double towers hotel, the bigwig then the computer programmer and finally the female assistant who was giving an introduction to the famous painters latest works.

As the latest mystery murder unfolds, suddenly the building electrical room is blown up in one of the towers and a fire is spreading. The drama begins to highten as first conans friends who get off the elevator a few floors down when it stops for a mother and child; they get off and say they will use the stairs to the bridge? In the meantime, as the elevator is going down the side of the building with Ran, conan and a bunch of other ladies; conan suspects something is wrong and using his magnifier glasses; sees Gene aiming a snipper laser rifle at Sonako (who changed her hair style because of the comments made when she played that game) and now resembles the older AI from a distance. Spoting the laser he yells something at Sonako who panics and looks down just as the bullet smaches the elevator controls locking it between floors with a raging fire beneath them. Conan, calls to Ran to help him kick out the cover of the roof where he climbs up and uses his watch flashlight find the elevator doors to pry open. He does not have the strength, but Ran did. After helping the other pasengers out of the elevator, they all rush down the stairs to reach one of the mid towers crossing bridges (one on the 44th floor and one on the 62nd floor). As they are racing towards the bridge, the other man in black explodes some bombs which causes the bridge to colapse. Making things worst the conans friends were just about to cross the other bridge when they find themselfs also stranded on the higher floors with no way down. The story gets more intense as fire rages on both sides of were ran and conan have gotton stranded. With little thoughts and alot of compassion towards conan; she grabs the firehose and wraps it around a broken steel grider and the other end around herself and conan. With father now seeing her standed; the next thing he sees is Ran jumping off the building. She then trys to swing and smach open the window of the floor before the fire burns thru the hose at the last minute. They then race downstairs to the street level as pieces of the building collapse under them. As Conan relizes the gang is not around; he calls to them on the badges and finds out they are stranded outside one of the bridges. Conan, then runs to the car and grabs his skateboard and races up to the 62nd floor. He then grabs the flashlight of a fireman and powers up his skateboard for a flying leep to the other building. He of course makes it; but his skateboard breaks into two pieces. Moments after it crashes he calls to the inspector on his cell phone telling him to rush a helicopter to the flight deck of the tower. The gang then heads back up the stairs to the roof while conan and ai stop off on the 75th floor to resolve the murder and mystery. While this is going on, conan explains to ai why he suspected this was Gins work . As the rest of the gang is waving at the helicopter, Gens partner dentonates another explosive which destroys the landing area and all chances of excape. The gang returns to the 75th floor as they soon discover, Gene was not thru and had wired the 75th floor to explode. Conan then works out a possible plan which requires a split second timing since caluclations show that they needed 30 seconds to clear the explosion to a pool located in the twin towers below. The problem was the weight and acceleration of just the racing car which by conisidence Rans father won. Ai computes that they would fall short; but conan pops open the back of the truck and Mitsuhiko explains conans idea of setting up a backdraft to push the car faster. Conan by the way had to knock out the painter with his needle gun since he was about to commit sucide. So he put him, and the gang they start the count down to escape.

Note, i should point out that when the gang was in the car heading back to tokyo or which ever city had the towers; they had to play some kind of game to kill time. Mitsuhiko had a stop watch but lost it somewhere later in the story and later both Ai and conans batterys run down so they dont have a timmer. In the game, they had to play; each tried to get as close to 30 seconds as possible. Ayumi hit it on the mark and everyone else was over. The reason will become ovious later how Ayumi did it. This is sorta central to the ending.

Back to the ending, Ayumi had to be the timer and when everyone asked if she could do it; she said if she was with Conan she could. In the meantime Ai, would count off from the dedinator and Ayumi would start at 30 seconds. As it nears 30 seconds, Genta and Mitsuko relize that Ai was not going to make it back. Genta, then jumps out of the car; grabs Ai, runs back to the car; thows her to Mitsuko; just as the car races out the window. To makes matters worst, as they are flying accross the air, Ai, slips out of the car and Mitsuko is trying to hold on. Conan notices that Ai will be smatched on the foutains crystal shards as they land; so removing the helment off Ayumi, conan then power kicks the helment towards the crystal; smatching inches before Ai would have hit it.

They hit the waters of the pool and all ends well. well, all ends well except for poor rans father who realizes that the car is the one he just won and its sinking in the pool.

The Fourteenth Target

Someone is targeting the people around Kogoro Mouri whose name contains the numbers 13 going down to 1. Thirteen being the king and the 1 being the ace from a deck of cards. The first victim is Inspector Megure, shot while jogging in the park with a crossbow. His first name is Jyuzo, in kanji, ten and three, making thirteen. Near the where the incident occured, a strange looking knife is found, which Conan finds it familiar.

The next victim is Eri Kisaki, Ran's mom. The number 12 in a deck of cards is the Queen. Kisaki means "Queen" in English. Eri was poisoned by chocolate. Eri thought the chocolate sent to her was by Kogoro after a fight they had at a French restaurant. And there was a flower attached to her favorite brand of chocolate. Once again, Conan finds the flower familiar.

The third victim is Dr. Agasa. While Conan was over at Agasa's house, someone broke the window to the front door. When Agasa opened to door to see who did it, he was shot in the back by a crossbow when Shin'ichi tried to warn Agasa. *Note: When Conan is at Agasa's house, he isn't Conan, but Shin'ichi.* The motorist left behind something that resembled an infinity symbol. The number 11 if found in Dr. Agasa's first name, Hiroshi. Hiroshi is spelled the same as 'hakase' meaning scientist, or the Dr. in front of Agasa's name. Aoyama Gosho purposely made Agasa's first name have the same spelling as his title. Anyways, the 11 in Agasa's name is from the 'shi' in Hiroshi. 'Shi' is composed of a ten and a one, thus making 11.

Conan figures what the items left behind mean. They're from the spade king, queen, and jack in playing cards. The king is holding a knife, the queen a flower, and the jack an infinity symbol. (I tried to check this, but my deck of cards have "Ah! My Goddess" all over them!) That means there is going to be 10 more victims. Their first suspect is a man that recently was paroled, Jyo Murakami. Kogoro was the one who arrested Murakami, and now that he was released, he probably wanted to have revenge on Kogoro. Kogoro is number 5, the 'go' in his name means 'five.' They have to find victim 10, 9, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1. But first victim 10, and get to him before the murdered does.

Of course, Kogoro being Kogoro, he thinks the mistress of a Club Towako, Towako Okano is the next victim. Shiratori takes Ran and Conan home. Shiratori tells Ran about the time when she was 10 years old, her mom was held hostage by Murakami, Kogoro shot Eri in the leg and when she went down, shot Murakami in the shoulder. While Kogoro, Megure, and Shiratori are staking out at the club, Conan figures out that the next victim is to be a pro golfer, Hiroki Tsuji, in his last name is the kanji for 10. Tsuji likes to fly helicopters and he was about to take off when Megure, Shiratori, and Kogoro stop the man. It turns out, he was victim 10. Somehow, the eye drops that Tsuji always uses before driving or flying a helicopter was switched with a chemical that dialates the pupil of the eyes. The sun became too bright for the man and he started to lose control. Luckly, Conan had experience flying helicopters, and with the help of the now blind pilot, Conan was able to land in the playground of his elemtary school, Teitan Elementary School. They got out in time before the thing exploded.

Kogoro couldn't figure out who victim 9 would be, but he could think of one person who could be victim 8. He was a wine taster (romaji: somurie, if anyone knows the English translation spelling of that word, please tell me!) from the French restaurant that Kogoro, Eri, Ran, and Conan went to earlier in the movie, Kohei Sawaki. At Sawaki's place, he mentions that he was invited to go to Aqua Crystal by Katsuyoshi Asahi, the man who build the place. Asahi also asked Kogoro to find a lost cat for him, and hired Kogoro. It turns out that Asahi has the kanji for 9 in his name.

Asahi built a restaurant called Aqua Crystal in the middle of the harbor. When Conan, Ran, Kogoro, Megure and Shiratori arrive, 4 other characters arrive also, claiming they received invitations from Asahi. Nana Osanai (7), Eimei Shishido (6), Peter Ford (4, it's the phonetic sound of his name that makes him the 4th victim), and Minoru Nishina (2).

As they wait, Megure explains to them that Murakami is after everyone that knows Kogoro with numbers in their name. It turns out that everyone has something in their name that has to do with numbers, including Shiratori. His first name, Ninzaburo, had the kanji for 3 in it. Ran and Conan don't have numbers to their names. But victim number 1 is missing.

While they wait around, it starts to become obvious that something is wrong. A hidden trap almost killed Sawaki, but Conan noticed the trap in time to warn him.

Then after that incident, Asahi shows up...as fish food. He is in the aquarium with the 9 of spades card on his overcoat. The group decide to leave, but they find out that they're are locked in.

The next victim, Osanai, is a model. The lights go out and during the commotion, she gets stabbed in the back. Her nails glow in the dark because of the nail polish that was given to her by Asahi as an invitational gift. Someone kicks over the can that Conan placed on the floor.

After the lights go back on, Conan figures out that who ever has the stain on his pants from his drink is the murderer. He also figures out that the murder is right handed, not left, Murakami is left handed. He decideds to carry out an experiment on something he saw one of the victims do. So, he serves mineral water the the group. They all drink it commenting how the water tastes wonderful. Conan figures out who the real murderer is.

Then the place explodes and the lights go out again. The back up light comes up and then the place explodes again, this time, it takes out the glass protecting the group from the aquarium water surrounding them. All of them make it to a small area with air, but Ran is missing. Her foot is stuck underneath a car. Conan goes to the rescue. He grabs a floating bottle and fills it with air before going under. When he reachs Ran, he puts the bottle in her mouth to give her air. In order rescue Ran, the car had to be lifted. Conan tries to lift it by himself, but gets his foot stuck instead. In his struggle, Conan loses the air in his mouth and falls unconscience. Rans saves Conan by giving the air that he gave Ran back to him. It's a kiss! Okay, sort of... Anyways, Conan wakes up and uses his suspenders to lift up the car. Kogoro comes and grabs Ran and they swim back up to the surface, followed closely behind by Conan. Ran thanks Conan for rescuing her and Conan turns red and goes under.

Because of the blast, there is now an opening for them to leave by, but they had to swim underwater. But Nishina couldn't swim. So Shishido help him to the surface. They all made it to the surface outside and climbed up onto the sunken building. Nishina stopped breathing, so Sawaki offered to give CPR. Then Conan, using Kogoro's voice, told Shiratori to do it instead. Shiratori gave CPR and the man was saved.

Conan shoots Kogoro with the stun-gun wrist-watch. And explains to all who the real suspect is.

First of all, it couldn't have been Murakami, because the person who killed Osanai is right handed. No one stabbes anyone with their weaker hand. Murakami is left handed. Conan tells them that the murder is still in their group. Of course, this stuns the group. He tells them that the real murderer is Sawaki. Conan noticed Sawaki tasting chili powder, something that wine tasters wouldn't do because that would ruin their palate. It meant that he had a disorder that would make the person lose their sense of taste. In order to make sure his theory was correct, Conan served everyone a cup of water, with the one to Sawaki a cup of salty water. He also tells everyone that in his pockets should be the proof. Sawaki checks his pockets and out comes a wine bottle cork with the graffiti that Osanai painted with her nail polish. And Conan finally tells them that Sawaki should have on him the ace of spades, Kudo Shin'ichi's card (the number 1 is in his name)!

Now the reason why Sawaki tried to kill everyone. Tsuji, Asahi, Osanai, and Nishina caused him stress and injury. About 3 months ago, Osanai ran him over in her car, it was a hit and run. Tsuji was almost killed because he made fun of him at a party four months before. Asahi was killed because of work related stress. And Nishina was almost killed because he wrote a book about wine that was totally wrong. All this caused him so much stress that he lost his ability to taste wine. He wanted them dead, the source of his problem and he didn't care if he died along with them in the process. Where did Murakami and Kogoro fit in? Right after Murakami was released, he went to visit Kogoro, not for revenge, but to apologize. Kogoro wasn't there at the time, he was out playing mah jong. At the bottom of the stairs to the office, Sawaki met Murakami and he pretended to know Kogoro as a friend. Sawaki invited Murakami to his place where Murakami told Sawaki of everything. Seeing a chance for revenge and making it look like it was done by someone else, he killed Murakami. Now that everyone knew the truth, Sawaki grabbed Ran, who is really out of it right now, and uses her as hostage. He heads up to the top of the tower where a helicopter is waiting. Conan, Kogoro, Megure, and Shiratori follow. At the top, a face of ensues. Shiratori is the only one with a gun, but his hands are shaking, if he was to fire, he might hit Ran. Sawaki tells Shiratori to toss the gun toward his way and makes Conan bring the gun to him. Conan picks up the gun, and he realizes why Kogoro shot Eri. Conan takes aim at Sawaki and fires. (Shin'ichi looked really kakkoii when he did it! Shin'ichi's image overlapped Conan's) Ran goes down, now a useless weight to Sawaki. While Sawaki is confused, Shiratori and Kogoro charge at him and he goes down. Because of the blasts, the tower is now heavily leaning, and Ran begins to slide down. Conan grabs and stops her decent.

The reason why Conan shot Ran, and why Kogoro shot Eri when Murakami had her as hostage, was not to capture the suspect, but was to protect the hostage. If the hostage was injured, then it would just be weight and the hostage would be disgarded. Ran told Kogoro that she felt that Shin'ichi was protecting her, and Conan/Shinichi says that if it wasn't for her, then he wouldn't have been able to save her.

After the ending credits, Ran asks why Eri left Kogoro 10 years ago. Eri replies that that night after the hostage, Kogoro complained about how terrible Eri's cooking was. She got really angry, after all she was injured and she tried to cook for him. They had a really big argument and Eri left.

Countdown on a Skyscraper

The director of the Kurokawa hospital, Daizou Kurokawa was found dead on front of his computer, the words JUN glowing. JUN is the clue, but what? Kogoro incorrectly replies that JUN stands for June, which in turn means waterless month, which in turn means Mina, the wife. Inspector Megure points out that a man on the verge of death would not choose something so hard to figure out to point out the suspect. Conan, tired to waiting for Kogoro to figure out the truth, shoots him with the sleeping needle. Using his voice changing bowtie, Conan solves the crime. The housekeeper, Manami Nakazawa, killed Daizou Kurokawa with blunt object. Before he died, Kurokawa was able to type Mi-na-mi, not before accidentally hitting the English text key. The reason was that one year ago Kurokawa operated on her husband while he was drunk and as a result her husband died. Minami Nakazawa changed her hairstyle and became Kurokawa household's housekeeper for revenge, no one ever noticed.

While at Dr. Agasa's house, Conan finds a letter addressed to him (Shinichi Kudo). It is an invitation to a garden party held by Teiji Moriya, a famouse architect for left-right symmetry. Since Conan couldn't go, he tells Ran to go in his place over the phone using his voice changing necktie. Ran agrees to go under one condition, Shinichi has to go see a movie with her on May 3rd, without his agreement, she continues on and askes him what color he likes better, red or blue. He cooses red, Ran's favorite color. Before Conan could say anything more, Ran hangs up.

What is on May 3rd anyways? May 4th is when Sherlock Holmes and Moliarty fall off a cliff. The next day is Children's Day. Just then Inspector Megure calls Conan's name. Megure introduces Detective Shiratori. Shiratori mentions how Megure told him about Conan's keen eye for things. Conan blushes. Conan goes back to wondering what was on May 3rd.

Back at Ran's place, Conan, Ran, and Kogoro eat dinner, prepared by Ran (looks yummy!). Conan finds out that May 4th is Shinichi's birthday. Ran plans to take Shinichi to an all night movie on the 3rd and when midnight comes around, she's going to present to him a red polo shirt. And the movie they're going to see is "Legend of the Red Thread." The legend is when a man and woman fall in love, a red thread ties them together by the pinky since birth. Kogoro opposes Ran going to an all night romance movie, doing weird things. But Ran adamantly tells her dad that its not that type of movie. Ran then changes the subject to the invitation Shinichi gave her, Kogoro and Conan agree to go with her.

At the Moriya mansion, Ran notices the entire place has left right symmetry. During the party, Moriya give Kogoro a puzzle to solve, and to make it fair for everyone else, he gives everyone the same puzzle question. Conan solves it first as bing Momotaro, the year of birth of the men in the question correspond to the Chinese Zodiac, the monkey, the rabbit, and the bird, Momotaro's companions. Kogoro is obviously unhappy about losing. As a reward, Conan and Ran get to visit Moriya's private gallery. All the buildings in the pictures are symmetrical. As Ran and Moriya talk, Ran mentions that May 4th is Shinichi's birthday and his favorite color is red, like the red thread that ties them together.

The next day, Ran goes shopping for Shinichi's birthday present. At Dr. Agasa's house, Conan and Dr. Agasa watch the news. At a chemicals storehouse, chemical bombs were stolen, but there are no suspects at the moment. In the next news, Kurokawa house hold was set on fire, luckly no one was home at the time. This leads police to believe that the fire was an arson. Because of increase in arson cases and also the similarity, the police believe the arsonist could be the one and the same. Just then the phone rings. The call is for Shinichi. All calls to the Kudo household is sent to Dr. Agasa's house. On the other end of the phone is a man, his voice distored, telling of a bomb in the park. If he doesn't go to the park soon, it'll explode. Then he demands Shinichi to give him his cellular phone number, and Conan reluctantly gives it. Conan then hops on his solar powered skateboard and head for the the park.

At the park are Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko flying a tiny airplane. Conan arrives and asks them where they got the plane and they reply from a man with a beard and sunglasses. Alarmed, Conan grabs the remote controller and Genta and Mitsuhiko tell him to wait his turn and try to grab it back. Conan blurts out there's a bomb on the plane and the two immediately lets go of the controller, it falls to the ground and breaks. The tiny plane then starts to chase Ayumi, Genta and Mitsuhiko. Conan powers up his shoes and kicks the broken remote controller toward the plane, it connects and immediatly explodes in an orangeish glow, a plastic bomb! Just then Conan's cell phone rings and he picks it up, forgetting to use his voice changing necktie. The bomber realized that the kid is his opponent instead of Shinichi. He tells him of the next bomb is going to explode at 1 o'clock, in about 15 minutes, in front of the Beika Train Station. The hint is that is' underneath the tree, but its not buried underneath the tree. Conan hurrys off the the next location.

Once there, he searches underneath all the tress, but there's no sign of a bomb. Frustrated, he goes to the second floor of a burger restaurant to get a better view of the area. From the window he sees an old woman pull a case from underneath a bench, on the case is "Someone, please take care of this" and inside is a kitten (neko in Japanese). Under the tree's roots (nekko). It's the cat! Conan rushes out to catch up to the old woman, who gets into a taxi cab. Without looking, Conan rushes out into the street and is almost run over by a motorcyclist. His skate board bangs against the curve. There's only 5 minutes before 1 o'clock. Back on his skateboard, Conan slowly catches up to the taxi, but then the engine on his skate board dies. The sky is still sunny, the motor shouldn't have died, unless the solar cells were broken when it hit the concrete. Desperate, Conan borrows a bike from a kid and takes off after then taxi. He is almost run over by the taxi when he catches up to it. Jumping into the taxi, he reaches for the cage and looks inside...and a bomb is patiently ticking away at the bottom!! Taking the case, Conan jumps back onto the bike and speed away, searching for a safe spot to put the bomb. At one point the bomb stops ticking at 16 seconds, but then starts once again. Conan rides off a toward the ravine and jumps off the bike. The bomb explodes in midair, the force of the blast knocking Conan unconscience.

At the hospital, Conan wakes up surrounded by Dr. Agasa, Ayumi, Genta, Mitsuhiko, and Kogoro. Kogoro briefly gets angry at Conan. Inspector Megure and Detective Shiratori come to find out what happened. It seems whoever is doing the bombings has something against Shinichi himself. Megure thinks of a case that might be...

A woman was run over in the rain by either the Mayor Okamoto or his son, Kohei Okamoto, both were in the car, one was driving. The son claims he was the one who was driving, but evidence points otherwise. A used cigarette was found at the sight had the finger prints of the son. Shincihi asks Kohei to sit in the driver's seat and light the cigarette up. Kohei reaches for the cigarette lighter with his left hand..but on the lighter are the fingerprints of his right hand. The only way to light a cigarette from the driver's side is to use the left hand, not the right. This meant that Kohei was in the passenger's side and the father was on the driver's side. Just then Mayor Okamoto confesses to the truth, he was the one who was driving...

But the only way to find the truth is to investigate the son, if he had any hatred for Kudo, they had to find out. Megure then asks Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko if they remember anything else. They think about it and Ayumi replies that he had a sweet smell, not like perfume... Megure tells them to inform him if the remember anything else. Since there was nothing else for them to do, the three kids decide to go home.

Conan's cell phone rings and Kogoro picks up. The bomber wants Shinichi, but Kogoro replies that he is the bomber's opponent now. Fine, he tells everyone listening that there are five more plastic bombs planted on the the Tokyo train lines. If the trains running right now goes lower than 60 kilometers, the bomb will explode, and they have until sunset to find them. The hint is "xx no x."

The train station office is contated and the operation managers tells them to speed up the trains... The workers are shocked to hear that if the train goes below 60 kilometers/hour, its going to blow up.

On the train, Genta notices that thy're nearing Beika Station but the train is speeding up instead of slowing down. Just then, over the speakers, it is announced that because of an emergency situation the train will pass the Beika Station. The three are surprised...but they didn't know the meaning of "emergency situation..."

At 4 o'clock, Inspector Megure hears over his cell phone that the train didn't blow up. Kogoro exlaims that he figured out what the bomber was talking about. It's either under the seat or overhead, but Megure replies he could also think of underneath the train itself. Agasa asks Conan if Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko if they would go to the Midoridai Station to rid the Kanjou Line. Conan realizes that they would.

On board the train, the announcer tells the passengers that the train won't be stopping for a while and also if they see a suspicious package not to touch it and immediately notify the conductor.

Conan's voice comes through Ayumi's badge. He asks where the three are. Genta asks what's going on. Mitsuhiko asks if something that starts with a "B" is on the train. Conan assures them that is nothing. Just then Megure's voice comes through telling someone that the bomb could be anywhere on the train. Ayumi asks if they're going to die, Conan replies that's not going to happen, they're going to find the bomb. Genta stands up and tells the others that the's going to find the bomb, and Ayumi and Mitsuhiko join in, too! They cut off the connection with Conan.

Megure and Kogoro goes to the railroad control room where a conterplan headquarters was created.

On the TV, new reporters are flocking at the station and above in the helicopters. In the lobby of the hospital, Conan watches the news. Dr. Agasa brings in a TV from the nurse's lounge to take to Conan's hospital room. Conan wonders why it will explode at sundown, it there a connection with the light?

In a restaurant, Ran and Sonoko chat about her date with Shinichi. Ran comments how her father and Conan are probably wondering what to make for dinner.

At the control room, reports come back about not finding anything suspicious aboard the train.

On board the train, the passengers are getting restless, they demand to be left off. One passenger tried to jump off.

With only 1 hour and a half left, Conan figures out where the bomb is. He immediatly calls Megure (as Shinichi) and tells him that the bomb is between the railroad tracks. The bomb is set to explode after several seconds of shade. The train being a total of 200 meters running at 60 kilometers/hour would take 12 seconds to pass over a small area. If the train slows down to the point where it would take 13 seconds to pass over the same area, the bomb is set to explode. If all the trains transfer onto side tracks, there should be no problem.

Taking Shinichi's advice, the trains are sent to side tracks and slowed down. None of the trains exploded and the passengers were allowed to get off safely. Now it was the police's turn to find the bomb. One by one, reports of bombs came in.

In Conan's hospital room, Inspector Megure tells everyone that the amount of plastic found in the bombs only account for one fourth the amount stolen from the chemical storehouse. That means there will be more bomb threats. Shiratori comes in and tells them that the mayor's son, Kohei was out of near Izu at the time. Kogoro mentions that the bombs planted for the trains aren't near the bomber's house. No one wants bomb parts to come flying near himself. That makes sense because at one point, the second bomb stopped near a playground and a mansion. Conan suggests finding out who was the architect who built the house in the arson case. It might turn out interesting, Conan told Detective Shiratori.

At a subway entrance, Sonoko was going to leave Ran to her date. Ran had one more hour before the movie started.

Back at the hospital, it turns out that Moriya Teiji was the one who build all four of the mansions that had recent arson fires. And they were all build the first half of the 30 years that he was an architect.

They all decide to go to Professor Moriya's mansion.

Over at Professor Moriya's, Conan notices an interesting smell. He sneaks away toward the gallery while Kogoro, Detective Shiratori, and Inspector Megure talk to Professor Moriya. Conan goes through his usual deductions, and begins to piece things together. In the middle of the gallery is a perfectly symmetrical model of a place called, "My Illusiory Mewtown, Nishitamashi." The street lights on the model is the same as the street lights at the park where the bom stopped ticking. Conan finally figured out who the bomber is, but he had no proof. Looking around the room for proof he finds a lighter sitting on the table.

Inspector Megure decides to leave because Professor Moriya couldn't think of anything else that could be of help. Just then Megure receives a call from Kudo Shinichi asking everyone to gather around in the gallery. Moriya picks up the lighter that Conan was looking at earlier along the way to the gallery.

In the gallery, Professor Moriya sees his model uncovered and becomes angry. Kudo calls Megure again, telling everyone that he figured out who the bomber/arsonist is. Kogoro butts in and claims it is Shiratori, ranting out the reasons while Shiratori squirms. Shinichi tells everyone that Kogoro is mistaken, this case isn't about someone with a grudge agains Professor Moriya, it is about the man who tried to burn down four houses, and the one who built that bridge, Professsor Moriya!

Moriy'as archetecture made him famous, but later he wanted destroy all the work he did in his youth. Shinichi tells everyone to look at all the houses that were burned down by arson. All 4 were not perfect in symmetry. The bomb that Conan was carrying stopped where the park was because of the streetlights, a symbol of Newtown, Mishitamashi. Moriya tells Shinichi that he has no proof, but Shinichi replies that he does. He tells everyone to look undeneath the model case, Detective Shiratori finds a pair of sunglasses, wig, and beard. Moriy blurts out that the stuff should be in the safe in his study. Conan comes in and explains that the sunglasses are really his glasses with black waterbased marker smeared on it and the beard and wig are from the decorative hair of the helmet ing the study, and all of this was Shinichi's idea.

Detective SHiratori is about to aske Moriya to the police station when Moriya pulls out the lighter and tells everyone that if they move, he'll expolode the bombs placed in his mansion. Conan tells Moriya that that woun't happen because he took out the batteries. Detective Shiratori then arrests Professor Moriya. Moriya tells them this isn't over yet, there is one more building that he wanted to destroy....the Beika City Building, his worst archetctural product. Only one minute left till 10 PM... Ran...

Kogoro gets really angry and had to be restrained by Megure and Shiratori. A piece of paper sticks out of Moriya's jacket pocket, Conan sees this and jumps to get it. It turns out to be a map of the bomb. Conan runs off t hand it to Shinichi, Moriya tells Conan to tell Shinichi his message: "For you, I created 3 minutes. Savor it carefully." He asks Ran to search for an attache case or a trunk, or anything unusual. Ran spots a bag behind a seat. Inside is a bomb with about 42 minutes left, it is set to explode at 12:03 AM.

Outside, Kogoro becomes frantic. Moriya, who is still handcuffed, tells Kogoro that there is still 15 minutes left before his daughter is blown away. And that even if they're able to diffuse most of the bomb, the last one will separate their fate.

5 minutes left, Ran continues to cute the wires. Shinichi tells Ran that after the last black wire, the timer should stop. The timer continues to tick after the black wire is cut. There are 2 wires left, a blue and a red wire.

At midnight, a clock rings out, only 3 minuts left. Conan is frustrated over the 2 wires... Ran calls out Shinichi's name, "Happy Birthday, Shinichi...I might never be able to tell you that..." ...Shinichi tells Ran to cut the color that she likes. Whatever happens, he'll be right there. They'll be together when they die.

Just then the building rumbles and concrete falls. Conan had to jump out of the way and on the other side Ran jumps out of the way or falling concrete, carrying the bomb, of course.

Setting the bomb down, Ran thinks of her conversation with Shinichi, dinner with her dad and Conan, her horiscope, and the red shirt she bought. Determined, she lifts up her scissors.

Conan desperately calls Ran's name. Rescue workers come in and try to open the emergency door. One of the workers complain he is not going to be able to slowly savor his wedding anniversary. Conan thinks back and figures out that the red is the trap. Conan tries to run back, screaming to Ran to cute the blue wire, the red it the trap.

32 seconds left... Ran prepares to cut...

Outside, Megure, Shiratori, and Kogoro are quiet. Moriya has a smug look on his face...

8 seconds...

"Good bye, Shinichi..."

"Ran!?"

Ran cuts a wire... everything is silent...

Everyone is rescued, some are carried away by paramedics. Kogoro is crying ove rthe safty of Ran. The news come and flock around Kogoro...

Ran goes off and searches for Shinichi, but finds Conan instead. Conan asks why Ran didn't cut the red wire. Ran replies that she didn't want to... "Shinichi and I could be tied together by a red thread." Ran smiles and lifts her pinky finger.

voice changing bowtie and other nifty devices created by Dr. Agasa.

Ran Mouri(毛利兰)

She is also the responsible one between her and her dad.

Kogoro Mouri(毛利小五郎)

Before he became a private dectective, Kogoro was a detective in the police department, working along side with Inspector Megure. An incident caused him to retire from the force early and do what he does now. Believe it or not, Kogoro was actually kakkoii when he was younger! A.K.A The Sleeping Kogoro.

Detective Boys(少年侦探团) - Genta Kojima(小岛元太) , Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya(円谷光彦), Ayumi Yoshida(吉田步美)
Classmatesof Conan. They like to solve mysteries, but most of the ones that they do solve is mainly solved by Conan. They do however help Conan with ideas. There is a little love triangle going on between the foursome; Ayumi likes Conan, but Mitsuhiko and Genta like Ayumi and, of course, Conan likes Ran.

Instead, she was shrunk, and her hand was able to slip out of the handcuffs.

Dr. Agasa(阿笠博士)
Shinichi's neighbor and Conan's "distant relative". He invented the cool gadgets for Conan (i.e. power-up shoes, voice changing bowtie, stun gun wristwatch, etc...).

Inspector Megure(目暮警官)
He is the detective of the police force and relies on Shinichi to solve crimes. But with the disappearance of Shinichi, he comes to rely on Kogoro Mouri, whom he once thought was an idiotic detective.

Miwako Satou
A female detective in the Beika City Police Department. Her
partner is always Detective Takagi. She's always oblivious to Takagi's love sick puppy dog reactions around her, but is she really that oblivious? And who does she like?

Kaitou Kid(1412)
Just who is this mysterious character? Actually, fans of Gosho Aoyama's other works would recognize him, he's none other than Kid the Phantom Thief, or Kaito Kuroba. His uncanny resemblence to Shinic
hi confused Ran in his first apperance in Detective Conan.

Gin
One of the men in black, or part of an Underground Crime Ring, Gin was the one who hit Shinichi in the head and forced a strange drug down his throat.

Vodka
One of the men in black, he is always seen with Gin.
